International Museum Day: Portrait of the Artist
To celebrate International Museum Day on Saturday 18 May, the Glucksman invites you to take part in our all-day drawing event, exploring ideas of portraiture and representation in the exhibition The
From America to Oceania, through Europe, Asia and Africa, International Museum Day is a special moment for the museum community. All around the world, almost 30,000 organisations create events to raise awareness of how important museums are in the development of society. We are very proud to take part.
Portrait of the Artist is a drawing activity that invites participants to draw self-portraits, portraits of other participants at work, or pictures of themselves based on the photographs in The Artist’s Eye. Led by professional artists Aine Andrews and Lucy Buckley, we’ll supply the easels, materials and mirrors – you just need to come in ready to draw!
